At Sand & Sky, we choose to align ourselves with organisations dedicated to preserving our beautiful land and empowering its people. Naturally we make donations, but we also like to get our hands dirty. Through volunteering, we’re able to forge stronger connections to the people, places and stories that make Australia so special.
At Sand & Sky, we tread lightly at every step of our journey. From the bush to bathroom, we’re committed to protecting the environment and giving back to our communities, while creating clean skincare that works. What’s more beautiful than that?
Australia is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries – and we want to keep it that way!
We work with only the most ethical, environmentally conscious suppliers.
Those that employ sustainable farming and harvesting practices and take care of their employees, our communities and our lands.
100% of our Australian-grown hero ingredients, such as Emu Apple and Tasmanian Sea Kelp, are sustainably sourced.
We’re continually reviewing our products and suppliers, with the aim that 90% of our natural ingredients will be sustainably sourced by 2022.
We actively support regeneration and conservation projects.
Through our choice of suppliers and charitable partnerships, we believe in giving back to our planet and communities.
Powered by the most effective botanical ingredients, our skincare isn’t 100% natural – but it’s pretty darn close.
Our customers love us for what we leave out almost as much as what we put in.
All Sand & Sky products are free from sulfates, silicones, parabens, petroleum, phthalates and mineral oils, among other common nasties. You can find a full list of what we’ve excluded – and included – on each product page.
We’re 100% microbead-free.
Any manual exfoliants are made from natural, biodegradable particles that won’t harm marine life.
Fresh is best
Preservatives are sometimes necessary to keep skincare products effective – and free from micro-organisms. We use those that are well-tolerated, at the lowest concentration possible.

Single-use plastic? Not so fantastic.
With every creation, we consciously make environmentally-friendly decisions.
When we create each product, we ask ourselves how we can REDUCE the materials used and create cute-but-clever packaging our customers can REUSE or RECYCLE. It’s rarely the easiest option, but to us it’s always the necessary one.
We’re very close to being 100% recyclable.
From the squeezy tubes and ‘grammable glass jars to our outer boxes, all Sand & Sky packaging is 100% recyclable*. We’re also committed to using recycled materials in our packaging wherever possible, with a target of less than 5% virgin plastics by 2022. Only the aluminium droppers in the serums are *not recyclable. We're not perfect, but we’re working on it!
Sustainably sourced materials.
Our cardboard boxes and leaflets are made from FSC Certified, recyclable paper – which means it’s sourced from sustainable forests.

We also respect the beliefs of our vegan customers and avoid using ingredients of animal origin in our products. The only exception is our Flash Perfection Exfoliator, which contains calcium carbonate (Pearl Powder) to give the skin that luminescent glow.
